Bye bye, Belk and Hello, Nobu Atlanta, a dynamic new Japanese fusion restaurant and 150-room hotel project scheduled for the north side of the iconic Buckhead shopping destination, due in 2021. This was the scene on a parking deck as celebrity investor and two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and Nobu namesake Chef Nobu Matsuhisa gathered on Thursday, Oct. 18 for a ceremonial “ground-breaking” with a Styrofoam wall, hardhats and sledgehammers.
Later this fall, the massive retail space that was most recently home to discount retailer Belk will be razed to make way for a new office complex and retail, restaurant and hotel space that will open in stages in 2020 and 2021.
Below are renderings of the new project.
